Brussels restaurant Bozar of Karen Torosyan enters list of world’s top 100 restaurants

13:18, May 30

Located in the famous Palais des Beaux-Arts in the center of Brussels, Bozar is now ranked among the world's best restaurants, ranking 63rd in the extended 51-100 list of the UK's World's 50 Best Restaurants 2024. The chef and owner of the restaurant is Karen Torosyan , who received a second Michelin star last year.

Each year, the ranking, compiled by 1,080 independent culinary experts, ranks the top 100 restaurants in the world. Restaurant rankings are published in two groups: first, those ranked 51 to 100, followed by the top 50—about two weeks later.

“Bozar is the culinary jewel in the crown of Brussels' Art Deco Center for Fine Arts, the last building ever designed by architectural luminary Victor Horta,” the organization says on its website. “In 2018, after receiving a Michelin star, Armenian-born chef Karen Torosyan  fulfilled a long-held ambition by purchasing the establishment he helped create...The menu continues to feature the same New Belgian dishes, prepared by the artisans with whom Torosyan  made his name.”

Last year, the Brussels restaurant was also awarded two Michelin stars and received a rating of 17/20 from the Gault et Millau gastronomic guide.

Bozar is the only 2024 Belgian restaurant included in this expanded ranking, and one of 12 new restaurants located in 11 cities, including Berlin, Mumbai, Seoul, and Sydney.
